Brainteaser for January 9, 2011 Question: Three men decide to stay at a Hotel and pay $10.00 each or $30.00 to the manager for the night. The manager decides that this was to much for them to pay and gives the Bell Man $5.00 to give back to the 3 guests. The Bell-Man pockets $2.00 and gives the remaining $ 3.00 back to the three guests or gives back one dollar to each guest. As a result each guest paid the manager $9.00 for the room (the original $10.00 less the dollar that the Bell Man gave him). So the question is if each of three guests paid $9.00 or $27.00 and the Bell Man kept $2.00 this only totals $29.00. What happened to the other dollar when the guests originally paid $30.00?
